In a significant stride towards academic excellence and pedagogical innovation, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ), under the visionary leadership of President Prof. Niti Nipun Sharma, proudly announced the successful conclusion of its five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled "Foundations of Inspired Teaching." Organized by the university's esteemed Teacher Empowerment Centre (TEC), the program aimed to revolutionize teaching methodologies and empower educators for the dynamic landscape of higher education.

The "Foundations of Inspired Teaching" FDP brought together faculty members from a wide array of disciplines, offering an immersive learning experience. The conceptualization and design of this impactful program were significantly driven by Prof. Aravind Chinchure, whose academic vision, in collaboration with the Manipal University Jaipur leadership, was instrumental in shaping the FDP into a meaningful initiative centered on teaching excellence, innovation, and transformative learning.

Day 1: Transformational Leadership in Higher Education

The FDP commenced with an inspiring inaugural address by Prof. Rajan Saxena, Former Vice Chancellor of SVKM’s NMIMS, Mumbai. He underscored the evolving role of educators in cultivating critical thinking, fostering multidisciplinary learning, and leveraging technology to prepare students for the complexities of the future.

Day 2: Mastering the Case Method of Teaching

Prof. Arun Sreekumar from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad led an interactive session on the Case Method. Through practical illustrations and engaging discussions, he demonstrated how real-world scenarios and case-based pedagogy can significantly enhance classroom learning, bolstering students' analytical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Day 3: The Power of Experiential Learning

Prof. Veena Vohra, Professor at the School of Business Management, NMIMS Mumbai, explored the vital role of Experiential Learning. She emphasized active participation, reflective learning, and immersive educational experiences as crucial elements for fostering deeper student engagement and conceptual understanding.

Day 4: Embracing Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence in Academia

The fourth day delved into emerging educational dimensions. Prof. Sophia Gaikwad, Head of the Symbiosis Teaching Learning Resource Centre at Symbiosis International University, Pune, provided learner-centric teaching insights grounded in the neuroscience of learning, explaining how students effectively process, retain, and apply knowledge.

Following this, Prof. Shailesh Kumar, Chief Data Scientist at Jio and Dean at Jio Institute, illuminated the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence in education. He discussed how AI-driven innovations are reshaping teaching methodologies, academic research, and institutional practices, preparing faculty for the future of learning.

Day 5: Becoming a Masterful Teacher

The FDP culminated with an insightful session by Prof. N. Jayasankaran, Former Vice-Chancellor of Kanchi University and Director General of Bharathidasan Institute of Management. Drawing from his extensive experience, he shared perspectives on reflective practice, continuous professional growth, effective communication, and fostering meaningful student engagement.

The valedictory ceremony marked a significant moment, including certificate distribution, reflective learning activities, the launch of Faculty Learning Circles, and the TEC Teaching Pledge Ceremony. These initiatives collectively reaffirmed Manipal University Jaipur’s unwavering commitment to continuous teaching excellence and collaborative faculty development.
