Beyond the Hype: Unmasking the Real Dangers of LLMs, Not Fictional AI Threats

Amidst widespread discussion about 'AI,' much of the public's focus is misdirected towards improbable threats. This article argues we need to shift our attention to the genuine, pervasive challenges posed by Large Language Models (LLMs) and other machine learning systems, from sophisticated spam and deepfakes to systemic bias and economic instability, rather than speculative 'AI' apocalypses.
